Worming Best Practice

In order to ensure your horse remains in the best possible condition, and try to prevent the worms becoming resistant to wormers, we practice a worm count routine, in association with Westgate Laboratories.

  • Every three months a worm count is performed.  If the worm count is negative then  you do not worm.
  • If there is a worm count then your horse is wormed.
  • In theory this means that your horse is wormed only twice a year for Enclisted Redworm and Bots, etc. .
  • This ensures the wormers remain as effective as possible and your horse is not needlessly filled with chemicals.
  • For more information check out the web site for Westgate Laboratories.
